Maifest: May 11-May 13 2018

Celebrate Spring With Us! It’s May, spring is here…and not a moment too soon! The sun is out, the wildflowers are bursting, the apple and pear blossoms are springing to life, and the Bavarian Village is ready to celebrate with our annual Bavarian Maifest weekend Maifest is a German tradition dating back to the 10th century, when villagers would gather to celebrate the arrival of spring by planting flowers, playing music and games, and raising a “maipole” in the local square. The pole would be decorated with sausages, cakes, flowers, and ribbons and villagers believed that dancing around it would bring good luck and wealth to the village. We invite you to our very Bavarian Maifest, celebrate Mom and Spring in Leavenworth! Our weekend is packed with Bavarian fun; we can’t wait to see you!
